Glossary Item Box
Adjusted gross estate is a term used in calculating limits for qualification under Sec 303 or Sec 6166. It is the gross estate less the deductions for funeral expenses, administration expenses, debts of decedent, mortgages, liens, and net losses during administration. Another way of calculating the adjusted gross estate is to increase the taxable estate for the Marital Deduction and charitable bequests.
